After You’re Gone, an installation inspired by the Charles Pendleton house of the RISD Museum, incorporated aspects of the still life and decorative arts genres to examine issues surrounding collecting, temporality, and loss. The gallery was transformed with Laid Table with Metal Pitcher, a Haarlem style still life sculpture replete with over turned vessels, food, and hundreds of snails. Flanking the still life are two empty portrait frames and glass wall paper referring to an 18th century example found within the museum’s permanent collection. An alcove holds a glass loveseat, fashioned after a reproduction one of Pendleton’s most prized possessions which he had duplicated numerous times and had recreated as a loveseat.
